The Opportunity

The Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences (BSBS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF), College of Medicine, invites outstanding applicants for a 9-month, non-tenure earning position of instructor of medicine or non-tenure earning position of assistant professor of medicine. The selected individual will be expected to teach lecture courses and laboratory courses in Clinical Immunohematology, Clinical Microscopy, Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Management/Education. The preferred start date for the successful applicant is between May and August of 2024.

The UCF College of Medicine is a research-based medical school with a culture based on partnerships and collaboration. As part of the UCF College of Medicine, the Burnett School has 59 full-time faculty, more than 2,000 undergraduate majors and 140 graduate students in M.S., Ph.D., and M.D./Ph.D. programs. Faculty in BSBS contribute to training a growing number of undergraduate students pursuing degrees in biomedical sciences and pre-clinical disciplines. Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have had an earned master’s (for instructor of medicine) or doctoral degree (for assistant professor of medicine) from an accredited institution; hold relevant certification, licensure, or recognition appropriate for the field; have three years of teaching experience; and is l icensed to practice as a generalist in the state of Florida. An applicant whose transcript does not indicate the master’s or doctoral degree has been conferred by their university must provide documentation that all requirements for the degree will be met by hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures is preferred.
